Hello guys, so to keep in touch, I'll be posting my slides about my midterm project, it's been a tough week, and it's going to be tougher next week since it's the midterm weeks, where we're going to presentate, or submit our projects.

So in this chance, I'll be telling you guys about powerpoint slides of my presentations for my midterm about How to solve poverty. But, before we begin, I would like to give credits and thankyou for the great author out there who have made these awesome icons, and also giving me inspirations during the making of these slides.

After few days brainstorming, and searching for clues, I'm finally come up with 8 major categories to end poverty.

1. Education

Education is one of the main source to end poverty, not only it gives a certain degrees, but also a knowledge! With more educated people, it surely can improve the structre and the way of thinking of each individuals which connected to jobs, and reducing poverty.

Sadly, even though theres alot of countries has a very good educations, some aren't, and some treated them unequally. that's why in this point we'll be focusing on Education Women.

We believe The education of girls and women impacts the rest of the societies in which these girls and women live, where Degree of education is linked to the age at which women marry and have children, to their health and diseases, to their economic opportunities, to their social standing, and to their general future wellbeing.

2. Gender Equality

Connected with the previous solutions, where there's still alot of inequality this days, we need to equalize that.

U.N. Development once said, 

"When women have equal access to education, and go on to participate fully in business and economic decision-making, they are a key driving force against poverty".

Also, we believe that, increases in gender equality will raises the household incomes, which will translates into a better prospects and greater well-being of children. Which is a smart way to reduce the poverty for future generations.

3. Health

Next, we're going to talk about health which consists of Sanitation, Nutrition, and access to healthcare.

Why sanitation is very important? One of the reason is, with a clean water, and a good sanitation, the agricultural productions will increase, which will affect the price of goods and service to be less expensive, also with a very good sanitation, we could prevent disease, since most disease comes from a bad sanitation or dirty water.

Nutritions. Everyone needs nutritions, but the crucial stage is the baby. Do you know that, an infants / baby which malnourished under 24hours has a higher risk of mental / physical disability??

That will cause them to less contribute in social and economic development when they're getting older, and because of this, they trapped in poverty. 

The reason of healthcare, because, according to President of World Bank, Jim Yong Kim, there are more than 100 million people are pushed to poverty by spending alot of money on health issues, so universal health insurance will help to reduce poverty.

4. Creating Good Jobs

The reason is very simple, creating good jobs has the same meaning as opening a new opportunity, and also opening a jobs which suits each individuals skills.

So by creating more and more good jobs, the people will have an income, and when they have income, they could easily get out from poverty.

5. Raise the minimum wage

Next, we're going to talk about raising the minimum wages.

This is an issue which happen in almost all the country, especially in the city with high standard costs of living, like hongkong, tokyo, moscow, etc and developing country like Indonesia, and 
Because of this, a full time worker with two children still raise their family in poverty.
Raising the minimum wages could potentially increase the health and wellbeing of millions.

6. Transparency in Government

The other method to reduce the poverty is to apply a transparency in government. 

Theres 3 major reasons why we need a transparency in government, the main reasons is to reduce or end corruptions.

With corruption reduced, it will decrease the rate of poverty, and with transparency applied, we'll be able to see clearly on how well the leader lead the country from their actions, or inaction, in different areas of the federal budget.

Not only that, transparency also allow us (the citizens) to see where the money is taken away, is it for the poverty-reduction campaign or into the pocket of our leader.

7. Canceling National Debts

There's alot of countries who failed to move on from the past, either from war, or disasters, this is the reason why International Monetary Fund and World Bank work together to create an initiative for Heavily Indebted Poor Countries (HIPCs), which helps with the debt relief to currently 23 poor countries, mostly Africa.

The main reason for the initiave is to let the countries get back on their feet and move on instead of trying to payback what was spent in the past. 

8. Microfinancing

Last but not least, another method to end poverty is Microfinancing, which could be defined as supply of loans, savings, and other basic financial services to the poor. 

According to Gates foundation, there's only 10 percent of the global populations has access to traditional banking.
So, with Microfinancing, people who are unemployed or has a low income, could get a small loans, to become more self-sufficient. It is a promising way to alleviate poverty.
